History

Across the mists of time in the ancient city of Arthinor, an order of knights was formed which gained the respect, honor, and servitude of many loyal subjects. Although valorous, they forgot many lessons learned in the courses of their quests for honor, the most dangerous of which was the knowledge that absolute power corrupts absolutely. As the lords gained in power, the respect for those who served them declined to the point of disdain and maliciousness.

Over the years, many loyal servants were discarded by the wayside on the path of the declining knights, often for the sake of injustice, greed, and self-servitude. Lost were the goals of honor, self-sacrifice, and equal treatment for all who desired to serve with the knights of the order.

By chance, or by design of the Gods of Yore, one lonely Knight, banished from the Halls of the Order cried into the night that the end of injustice had come. No longer would the deceit of the former lords be shrouded in mystery from the rest of the Knights and Disciples. He lifted his voice with the cries of justice for all and was hailed by many of the lower servants who had seen the horrors that the Order had fallen into, but had been too intimidated to stand alone in the darkness encompassing the Lords' ruling ways.

Dixen, The Righteous Fallen, fought back, bloodying his sword with the ties and bondage of the Aristocracy of Deceit. He found legions within the Order who supported his quest for justice at all levels. Joined in his desire by Thurilar of the Stoned Gems; Lord Reverse3, the Honorable; Jessable, the Loyal One; David, the Mighty; Cypherous, the Defender; White Tiger of the Far East; Red Quill Penweaver; Jareth, loyal Knight and Bonded Love of Dixen; Elminster, Knight of the Golden Swords; Sir Amel; Sir Dhirvish; Lady Marra, and others.

After attempting to right the wrongs through the channels of the old Order, it was determined that the injustice had become so ingrained that it would never be cleansed. These brave Knights, Lord, Ladies, and Servers of Justice left the fold to strike out into the world, out across the barren wastelands to find direction. To find a place where honor and justice still reigned supreme. When none was found, it was decided to create a new light for the World near the mountains of Kaafindoor, in the valley of Zacaliston. A light of Peace, Justice, Courtesy, Humility, and Service, not to themselves, but to the People who would join them as they built a new Guild.

Justice for all and the belief that all are equal under the rules of conduct would be the guiding principles. Neither Lord, nor Initiate, would be allowed to walk away from any injustice done to others.

This, my friends, was the founding of the Sovereign Order of the Crimson Blade.
